I identified the issue with the Jellyfin app on Android:
The integrated player cannot display a video with a resolution higher than the device.
The "Maximum Allowed Video Transcoding Resolution" setting does not address the integrated player issue. Instead of selecting an equal or lower resolution than the device, it allows the video to transcode to a higher resolution.

- In the playback settings, when all the 'Video Quality' settings are set to auto, it transcodes to a higher resolution that the integrated player (web player) is unable to scale, as Mr. the Pirate pointed out. This results in only the audio being visible to the user.
- When I select the 'Quality' setting of 1080p while the movie is playing, it doesn't affect the movie, and it continues to transcode in 4k. This discrepancy is due to it not changing the resolution settings but rather the 'Home Network Quality' in the playback settings. It's a bit confusing, especially for a non-native English speaker like myself. Consequently, only the audio is shown to the user.
- However, when I choose 'Maximum Allowed Video Transcoding Resolution' in the playback settings and set it to 1080p, the movie works perfectly fine and transcodes in 1080p. This implies two things:
The integrated player cannot display a video with a resolution higher than the device.
The "Maximum Allowed Video Transcoding Resolution" setting does not address the integrated player issue. Instead of selecting an equal or lower resolution than the device, it allows the video to transcode to a higher resolution.
