My shows have English and Japanese, and I wanted English always for me as a user, so I just had to set my preferred audio language to English and deselect 'Play default audio track regardless of language' Then I didn't have to worry about which was track 1 anymore since it now always plays English.

Unfortunately, after unchecking that option and restarting my server, I am still having the exact same issue in February of 2024 (as documented here).
