Time to kill a paused video in 10.9.0

Is there a way to stop the videos from automatically quitting after being paused for a while?

Is your whole computer idle or just the tab that the player is in? I haven't been able to replicate, but I've also continued to use my computer in the background while the unstable tab is minimized.
