New to Jellyfin and while I'm an IT person, Linux is not my thing either.
I'm using TrueNas Core (v.13).
Jellyfin is installed in a jail called jellyfin.
I have a ZFS library which is mounted on /mnt/PrivateNAS. (inside that is a folder called Media).
After installing the jellyfin, I added a mountpoint as per this pic...
Within the jail, when I go to shell I can see the files as per this pic...
(User 1000 is me, group 1001 is users, group wheel is built in, user jellyfin may be misleading here so let me come to that in a sec)
So I can see the files as root and I've set 'Films' to be owned by jelllyfin, I've also set full 777 access to Films as well.
When I installed the jail, the user jellyfin was added but its not showin when I look up users in the GUI. It seems to only exist within the jail, its userid is 868.
So *I* manually created the a user and a group in TrueNas with the same user and group id ( both 868 ).
If I copy a few films to the root directory then jellyfin finds them, so it has to be a rights issue but I can't see what else I need to do. I've opened up the rights, I can see it within the shell but when I try to add the folder to the jellyfin GUI then it doesn't see it. HELP!
Thanks.
