I would rather pay for Jellyfin and have more people working on certains issues.
Most likely it's not as easy switching back the code that pertains to the player as there could be new things that depend on it.
All the previous releases of the Roku app are available on the Jellyfin github. You have the power to switch back to older versions of the software if those worked better for you.
