I've tested some videos copying them to a USB stick and playing them on the TV like that.
Video 1 runs fine, video 2 - runs fine as well, another video brings up exactly the same toast "File not supported".
Which makes me think it's not the jellyfin not transcoding something correctly (that's why I can find nothing in the logs) but some stuff on the network level in the proxmox - lxc - docker - jellyfin - TV chain.
Too lazy to run wireshark, so I guess I'll just run a Firestick and a browser.

p.S. in case if it comes usefull for anybody, there is a jellyfin client for firestick and I'm pretty glad about how it runs. Wish you all good.
