It could have been Warning first Account ban next time, right? The warning system is a feature of the MyBB forum this place is built on. I don't know if the Jellyfin team didn't add it to the rule page due to that, but it's a thing.
I do appreciate the clarification though!
I'm not sure if users can see their warning level. As far as I know, there is no automated banning after you receive a certain amount of warnings. Warnings expire after set period (I set yours for a single day).
From my understanding, the warning system serve mainly to help the mods determine if a user is constantly breaking some rule, not to automate a banning.
We generally decide based on the rules that are broken if we give out a single warning (or multiple) or a ban.
In your case, you have nothing to worry about. You were being helpful and clearly not intentionally breaking the rules.

I guess technically that is true...
Usually if the issue is how to get Jellyfin to work with one of them, that is generally outside of this forum's scope.

It's clear you were not trying to break the rules, so I edited the post to remove the mention of the ARRs & the torrent client instead of deleting the whole post.Replying to "what to selfhost" is a question not issue is unquestionable true but seems excessive to me.
With that logic you could warn yourself since you responding to a question as well, not an issue.
I think discouraging discussion/promotion is the correct choice but trying to delete every mention of something is counter-productive at some point.
We're not discussing how to use them, but their mention on the forum.

I keep track with posts as they come. I was not here from the start of the forum, nor do I have the time to go through all past posts. That sounds a bit like you trying to put the genie back in the bottle.
If we're talking about going back and moderating the past posts mentioning the tools, that's an entirely different discussion.
You're free to bring up/point to any forum thread or post that violates the rules since the team might have missed them.
We don't have a bot patrolling this forum deleting things as they appear.
I'm not trying to say that it was acceptable back then and we're just picking on you now.
We're not constantly on this forum. We sleep, need breaks, have jobs or other things that pull our attention away from this forum.
I was just on the forum at the time of your post. If me or the few other mods missed your post, it would have most likely been left alone due to that.
The whole topic about software that sources media for users is a gray-area topic on this forum.
We try to do our best, but it being a gray-area, we have to decide what is or isn't allowed here on that topic.
We're generally against discussing them here, not your use of them as that is your own personal choice.
