I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO FIX IT!!!!
Solution:
I uninstalled TMDB Box set, and I made TMDB the primary but I noticed metadata was not being captured not matter how many times I try. I then tried to visit TMBD directly and try to identify a show to see if it works and that's when I came upon this: TMBD is blocked in India and different ISPs enforce this differently and my ISP (Reliance Jio) has blocked it outright. This was causing the issues with the shows.
Once I saw this I disabled TMDB from the metadata providers and selected AniDB as the first and then embedded title and images second and this has seemed to resolve my issues. It also helped that I corrected the directory permissions based on your link yesterday (
