Ok thanks. Appreciate the info and the help! So far things are continuing to work fine since taking the Make MKV files and re encoding / down sizing the files in HandBrake. Is it possible the larger ripped MKV files were perhaps too large to play effectively? Too much for the onboard video of my HP i7 7700? Whatever the case, all seems fine now.
