I recently updated to 10.9.11 on Win10. Metadata has been working fine before this. I tagged a new album with MP3Tag and added it to my library. JF will only read the external artwork file, not the tag data. MusicBrainz url is blank, all plugins are turned off. I have refreshed metadata several times.
