Please, before I get crucified, called names or any other negative and patronizing things people who don't know how to do stuff get called on the internet I'd like to provide a disclaimer: I have looked this up, yes. I checked this forum for my question, albiet quickly as I've been trying to figure this out for weeks and I just found this site and am exasperated.

I'd like to be able to share my jellyfin server with a family member. They will be using an app on their TV (like Roku or something). I have follwed several port forwarding guides and none have worked. A lot of people sugguest using a third party app but again, my family watches things on their TV and if there is a way of doing that with out casting it from another device, I have yet to see it. Spectrum is my ISP, I set the port up through their app. I used a web page I found to see if my jellyfin port was open to be discovered, it was. I tried to log in on another device and network, nada.

Anyway, if there is a guide or video that explains to someone who understands the concept of networks but confuses easily when jargon gets thrown around I'd be forever grateful.

I am indimidated by the "you must be dumb" responses I see everywhere else, but I am desparate and asking.

Oh, the set up is windows 11. Plain Jane. No Linux, no whaever OS controls a NAS. Just regular ol windows on a nice little mini pc.

Thank you and I realise I am probably missing something easy...
