Hey,
I’m running Jellyfin directly (no container) on a Mac Mini M4. I’m having trouble playing certain media files on Google TV and can’t figure out what’s causing it.
Remote users with both HD and 4K Google TV devices reported a black screen and no audio. I don’t have any issues on Infuse (Apple TV) or Jellyfin Web, but I was able to reproduce the problem locally.
I tested on Google TV HD with HEVC hardware encoding/decoding turned off. It's usually on, but it throws some error messages, that don’t seem relevant (same issue with and without hw transcoding), so I turned it off for testing this issue.
Here’s what happens:
I start the video with the default audio track—black screen, no sound. Then I switch to the second audio track (Jellyfin Android TV doesn’t let you choose audio tracks beforehand). The second and third tracks play fine - both video and audio - although I had one hiccup with the second one—it might’ve been a glitch from switching tracks.
Worth noting: I had the same black screen issue with at least one other video that had completely different video parameters, but unfortunately, I no longer have that file.
Logs and media info are below. Appreciate any help.
