Similar to this thread, I switched OS just 2 days ago, my installation being jelyfin/docker for debian 12. I knew for a factmy m3u8 wouldn't work out of the box due path changes so I did the next: I opened it with kate (text editor) and replaced the windows portion of the path for the linux "c
/users/dir" to "/mnt/dir" (not that it was the exact path buy you get the idea), I also replaced any missing reverse slash and it works in paper if I open it with VLC, most paths built correctly except for say 1, 2, playlists got converted because my folder structure remained across systems.
Problem arose when I tried importing them: They get read because the playlist folder is within the file source (I had it the same back on windows) but opening them returns nothing, they appear empty.
I gave it a long thought, "maybe it isbecause they're not linux native". FF, I opened the one edited in kate on VLC again and exported it as file now with "native paths", I tried exporting to both m3u and m3u8 but none seem to work work after re-scanning libraries, refreshing metadata, system reboot. I'm open to ideas I haven't thought yet.
Maybe injecting them through some app like symfonium, I'm not gving up just yet!
