As a long-time J4K user, I've *never* gotten music to play nicely. I'm at a point now where I use Symfonium (you could do this with the Jellyfin app too, or probably other Jellyfin music apps) to control my music from my phone, and just cast it to Kodi. Works very seamlessly, and kind of bypasses all of Kodi's little *quirks*.
I know that's more of a workaround than a solution, but it's the only one I've had luck with. Maybe someone else has had better luck though.

Jellyfin 10.10.7 (docker) on Debian 12.6 // N100 16GB
Storage: Synology DS220+ CIFS mounts
Clients: Jellyfin4Kodi (Addon Mode), Android, Android TV, Roku, Symfonium
