Intermittent Subtitle Issues

I have experienced issues -- depending on the client -- with subs respecting the previous setting. Even though it looks like they're on in the GUI, they're not. A workaround is to turn off the subs, then turn them back on. Going back to a previous episode is likely to default to the behavior you have set in your client, whether that's language, default track, or off. Some platforms, e.g., Android mobile, will not enable subtitles regardless of what you select when using an external player (e.g., VLC or MPV).
