I don't think that there is any auto- collection functionality yet for Jellyfin but if you do a general search for any director Jellyfin will bring up all of their Movies/Shows & that will always update as you add more titles. I use "Favorites" for "Director" & "Actor/Actress" collections. You can "favorite" as many people as you'd like & this sort of creates auto-updating collections for them. Their Images will appear under "People" on your "Favorites" page & if you click on that image it will bring up all of the movies/shows you have by them
