Unraid / linuxserver 10.11.0 update experience
30TB/4k movies/700 shows
i9 with 64GB DDR5
I was excited for the TV Shows collections feature, and attempted to update from 10.10.7 to 10.11.0 using Unraid Docker with linuxserver/jellyfin:latest, but it made a huge mess out of my libraries and collections so I had to roll back. The initial update took only a few minutes but then a full library scan took hours to run and for my anime content to reappear, as a mess.
"Movies" and "TV Shows" library: Seemed okay right away, minus collections no longer working.
Collections: 10.11.0 no longer displayed all my manually created collections in "Movies" library. Made sure 'group movies and tv shows into collections' were enabled in display settings, rescanned all libraries and individual libraries and restarted. Everything was shown in "Collections" library but only 3 shown out of 50+ in "Movies". The new feature of Collections in "TV Shows" library appeared to work with newly created collections but only after rescanning again and restarting.
"Mixed movies and shows" library: my Anime library worked perfectly in 10.10.7 to display all anime shows and series in one place, with collections working for movies. In 10.11.0 at first all content here was gone, then after a full library scan and then scan library for new metadata, content was back but was a huge mess (displayed titles were not correct, hundreds of movies called Movie for example, posters missing, collections all gone). Metadata is already saved in all folders as .nfo and .jpg from Arr stack so I'm not sure why 10.11.0 was not reading and displaying from it. 10.10.7 catches it all quickly.
Also noticed overall slow loading performance as others have mentioned. Will probably try creating a new Jellyfin 10.11 instance from scratch at some point, but recreating my setup and collections will take a long time. For now back and fully working on 10.10.7
Still thankful for the team efforts, hoping things get ironed out in future releases!
