SOLVED: Changing folder or file names will wipe "history" of media, anyway to mimic plex

So my radarr instance died and migrating to a new one was a pia but i got it done, one thing that would have made it easier was the inclusion of imdb Ids on the folders - I know if I add this to my old media it will cause jellyfin to lose all history on those files. But plex will just update in place. Is there anyway to mimic this behavior?
