Anyone else missing the Jellyfin Reddit sub?

I felt it was much more free, here the tone is somewhat strong and kinda not open for new suggestions sometimes

its for convenience, i am on reddit daily, i see info for a lot of other interests all in on place.
i had to come here just to show my appreciation for jellyfin, its unfortunate a lot ppl left reddit after the appllo removal, but that was over a year ago. there is still a big audience on reddit...just saying

There’s a Jellyfin instance on Lemmy if you’re missing the Reddit style - https://lemmy.ml/c/jellyfin. Modded by some of the devs. Not as much traffic as the old subreddit. But hopefully it continues to grow.

Lots of other communities too, if you wanted to lower your Reddit use.

So...personal opinion, but I think it would disingenuous to continue operations on a platform that is explicitly anti-open source when the software you're developing is open source. I'm actually kind of glad to not be doom-scrolling that downward spiral anymore.

    /personal opinion

I know this forum existed prior to the reddit debacle and moving here was strategic in addition to timely, so reddit's actions are not the sole reason for /r/jellyfin going dark. I think this community has come together nicely, actually. Make broad use of the off-topic area. If you're not on Matrix, we have a lot of shenanigans there as well. You can also join via Discord if you do not want to use Matrix.

Agree, forum here is easy to search for information/useful stuff and in discord you can have more direct Q's and discussions. Never was a fan of reddit tbh.

You could check out Lemmy. It looks like the largest Jellyfin community is https://lemmy.ml/c/jellyfin. I use the Voyager client on Android which has an old.reddit.com feel.
