Cant upload jpg image (png works)

When I try to edit an image, like a movie poster, I then hit ADD and select the image but upon hitting upload It just spins forever.
If I rename the file.jpg to file.png and try again, it works!
Seems like you cannot upload .jpg files.
I opened an issue but somebody closed it and told me to post here in the forums.

I searched for this bug and found the same issue from 2+ years back, which says it was fixed. But Im running Version: 10.8.13 and it is a problem.

Can you link the issue? It might be fixed in 10.9 instead of 10.8.
