Chromecast playback issues

I'm runnning Jellyfin 10.10.6 under docker with the linuxserver image on an old Pentium with VAAPI enabled. Whenever I try to play certain files over Chromecast (tried with gen 1, 2 and 3), the TV shows as if it's loading and after a few seconds it stops and shows the backdrop.
From what I can gather from the logs, it tries to transcode and fails (For whatever reason, files played over Chromecast are always transcoded from 1080p to 720p unless I disable transcoding for the user). Here's the ffmpeg log:

If I disable video transcoding for the user, it tries to remux instead and fails to play but the logs show a different error:

As I said this error only happens with a specific set of files, most of my library I can play without issues even with transcoding.
What could be the cause of this issue?

This is a common experience with older "dumb" Chromecasts. I don't have one anymore so I've never been able to troubleshoot this issue.
