Hello! Im wondering if the DiskStation® DS423+ by synology would work for my needs. Im looking to use it as a 4K Bluray movie server and CD quality flac server. My concern is that the CPU isnt powerful enough. If it wont work please may you send some alternatives. Thanks.

That celeron processor it's packing is pretty weak. I like my DS220+ as an NAS, but I run all my applications off a little N100 mini pc, which are usually affordable and great for these tasks.
    Specifics:
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (docker) on Debian 12.6 // N100 16GB
    Storage: Synology DS220+ CIFS mounts
Clients: Jellyfin4Kodi (Addon Mode), Android, Android TV, Roku, Symfonium

Xeon CPUs are not magic. They use the same CPU cores that their desktop counterparts do. And that particular Xeon is a D-1527, which has 4 Broadwell cores, circa 2015. And it doesn't have an iGPU, not that a iGPU from that era would be that useful.

And that chassis would require you get a workstation/server class GPU due to the 1U form factor, which costs more.

Kandykarter's suggestion of an N100 mini PC would perform MUCH better for Jellyfin than that Xeon CPU. And then use a NAS as just a NAS.
