I have not seen the following question answered and it would be helpful to know. I have the DS920+ which has hardware transcoding. I was going to setup Jellyfin through a Docker container (or similar method described in  How to Install Jellyfin With Hardware Transcoding on Your Synology NAS – Marius Hosting ) which didn't work on my first attempt. Didn't try this method again. I am a simple user. I followed the guidance  given by "NAS Compares" which worked straight away. The latter installs Jellyfin through a repository from SynoCommunity. Am I correct, I need to make no further changes in the Synology NAS (for example add lines of code or whatever) and I simply just enable transcoding (check/uncheck various settings under this section) to get hardware transcoding to work?

    Thank you.

You have to make sure that you pass in the GPU into the "app". Then configure the codec support for your CPU.
