I have JellyFin installed on my ASUSTOR AS6706T NAS. I have JellyFin installed on my iPad Pro.

I have the DLNA plugin installed on the NAS. I have the plugin installed on the iPad?

JellyFin is working with both Firefox pulling music from the NAS as well as the iPad pulling music from the NAS.

However, when I click the "Play On" icon, there is nothing to select my Onkyo TX-NR6100 receiver.

I did have the "mconnect" audio player installed (not the best player) and it would see my Onkyo receiver and play the music there incliding turning the receiver on.

It seems I am missing something in JellyFin? Is there something else, configuration wise, that I have to do?

    TIA for any help.

Did you open port 1900 for Jellyfin? That is the port that DLNA runs on.

You mean open it on the ASUSTOR NAS? On my router? mconnect player did not require any port to be opened.

I'm not sure how mconnect player works vs Jellyfin DLNA. Can you check which network mode each one is using? You'd need Jellyfin to be in host networking for DLNA to work. And you can't run another DLNA based app at the same time since both would need to bind to port 1900.

Thx for replying.....By "Can you check which network mode each one is using?"...do you mean mconnect and JellyFin? I looked through the JellyFin settings but have NOT seen a "host mode" setting yet. Can you point mt to where that is? I presume you are talking about a check box somewhere?

BTW, mconnect player has been uninstalled on the iPad.

The network mode setting would be in the Asustor container settings for Jellyfin. Not in Jellyfin itself.

Hmmmm.I looked all over the JF portion on the ASUSTOR NAS, but don't see anything that mentions the DLNA settings other than the attached screenshot from the NAS JF.

I only see "quick reply" and not "full reply" when replying here, so vcannot attach a screenshot but the parameters I see in the DLNA plugin are these:

    1. Enable play to - this is checked
    2. Client discovery interval - set to 60
    3. Blast alive messages - set to 180
    4. Send only to matched host - set to checked (not sure what this?)

One more thing does the DLNA plugin for JF and if play to my Onkyo ever shows turn on the receiver OR is the JF DLNA not allowing the play to the Onkyo because it is not turned on?

    Thx,

    Kevin
