    Hi everyone,

Maybe I just don't understand the concept, but does it really make sense to store the playlists of all users in the same directory (/var/lib/jellyfin/data/playlists)?
What happens if multiple users use the same name for their playlists? Wouldn't it be better to divide them into /var/lib/jellyfin/data/playlists/$USER/?

It would probably make more sense to have the user in the path somewhere...
As it is now, it looks like it just adds a number to the end of the folder name if multiple users create a playlist with the same name.
For example, if 2 users create a playlist called "WatchMe", you get this:
    • /var/lib/jellyfin/data/playlists/WatchMe
    • /var/lib/jellyfin/data/playlists/WatchMe1

It seems like more work to implement it this way, but it does work...

    What annoys me more is:
    • You can create public playlists with the same name as one that already exists.
    • Users with minimal permissions can create playlists, but can't edit the name of the playlist afterwards (though than can delete it).
    • No setting to prevent users from creating public playlists.
    • Deleting playlists is scary when the message reads: "Deleting this item will delete it from both the file system and your media library. Are you sure you wish to continue?" (It's makes me wonder if it is going to delete the items in the playlist along with it).

I also personally don't like how playlists work for TV series (I think it is fine music, books, and movies). When you add a series, it adds all of the episodes to the list. I can see how this would be helpful in some cases, but I would much rather have the ability to add a TV series as a "collection" or something, so it would behave more like a "Watch List" on other streaming services.

Yes, the handling of playlists in Jellyfin is not yet optimal. I think and hope that this will be improved in the future.
