So recently I heard that jellyfin from version 10.9 onwards will be able to remux DV files from mkv to mp4 or .ts container to trigger DV playback so i upgraded my server to jellyfin 10.9.6 but still it does not trigger DV in mkv and plays the fallback layer(HDR).All the files I have tested are DV profile 8.1 which contains fallback HDR layer.I also noticed even if I enable the "always prefer to play in fmp4" option in playback both on server and client...it somehow transcodes the files.

    My setup
    Jellyfin server 10.9.6
    Windows installation
    Client LG OLED48A2PSA
    Jellyfin webos app

    Attached Files
    .zip   dv log.zip (Size: 9.33 KB / Downloads: 83)

Have you tried disabling "prefer fmp4"? WebOS clients seem to have issues with fmp4 even though they should be able to play it.

I'm having a hard time find any specific information about what that DV does and does not support. There are several kinds of Dolby Vision and the one in your file, DV8.1, is pretty well supported by DV capable TVs.

So I don't know why it is falling back to HDR10 or how to advise you further.

my tv supports dv profiles ranging from 5 to 8.1 but in mp4 container, this issue has been raised within the kodi webos development team too and they still haven't figured it out whats causing it but what I believe is a simple remux to mp4 should definitely play it because that's what the TV support but nevertheless it fails too.
