    Hi,

Jellyfin server runs on MacBook Pro Retina - 2012 - Catalina

TV LG C3 77 -> HDMI Arc -> Onkyo HT-R380 (5.1 Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD MA compatible)
    Jellyvin WebOs App

Video file: simple demo from a movie with DTS 5.1 sound.

Everything works perfectly when the video is Dolby 5.1 - Direct streaming with no transcode and 5.1 sound ok
    but
Every video that is DTS 5.1 the server uses transcoding for the audio.

I want my DTS library with no transcoding. Is it possible to achieve this?

The LG webOS client being a jellyfin-web wrapper it is going to impose limitations.
The built-in browser of the TV may not support all the codecs available on the TV.
Since DTS support is new to the C3 jellyfin-web may be incorrectly identifying that LG is not capable of DTS in general and might need an update.
The container used to transmit to a web browser may not support DTS.

Chances are the client is correctly identifying that it is not capable of DTS and therefor telling the server to transcode, in any case I do not believe this is not something that would be overcome by a setting.

after response i looked up issues on github for this, there is this one https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-web/issues/4729
it indicates a change to the jellyfin-web source may be needed but in the follow up responses it indicates HLS/TS does not support DTS Audio
this spec link was provided https://webostv.developer.lge.com/develo...o-audio-45
but i do not know what webOS version you have
