Instead of two hosts, why not just one? Most/all of those apps can be run in docker. This keeps all the storage local but you can still keep all the apps separate from each other.

anything I need to change on the specs, lets say the board and the CPU?
If I plan to go big later, I would go for the fractal case now and get two more disks at a later point in time. edit: since i'm having problems finding the node 302, i'm looking for alternatives. Now thinking about this one: https://www.jonsbo.com/en/products/N3.html edit2: https://www.androidpolice.com/best-nas-cases/ they have a category "best small" -> Jonsbo N2 I will look into that aswell

If you plan on loading it up with drives, maybe a bigger case and switch to a mATX motherboard for an additional PCIe slot. Just in case you need to put in a HBA card for extra SATA ports. Most of the apps you plan to use aren't CPU intensive so you are probably ok with the 12100.

Hey man thanks again for your help!
I have made up my mind and I will go for the Jonsbo n2. I checked a bunch of YouTube videos, even some where they just filmed it while the Nas is active to give a feel for the noise level. I will replace the stock fan though with a noctua one, because the stock one is supposed to be loud. So this will be my final build: - CPU: Intel Core i3-12100, 4C/8T, 3.30-4.30GHz - Motherboard: ASRock H610M-ITX/ac Mini ITX - RAM: 2x Crucial 8GB DDR4-3200MHz Memory - OS Drive: Crucial P2 M.2 2280 250GB NVMe SSD - Media Storage: 2x WD Red 4TB 3.5" 5400RPM - Power Supply: EVGA 450 BT 450W 80 Bronze - Case: Jonsbo N2 - Fan for case: Noctua NF-P12 900 RPM |
