Hi All,

I've been a l have been a long time plex user and have moved over to Jellyfin.

I currently have two nearly identical PC's one is a 6th gen I5 and the other is a 7th gen I3.  Biggest difference is between the two is the I5 is a quad core quad thread and the I3 is a dual core quad thread.

If i run a bench mark on them they come in very close, within 10%. 

Will I see any advantage using the quad core?

Both machines have the same video card and ram.

Of the two, I'd choose the 7th gen i3. Exclusively because it has a HD600 GPU, which has HEVC 10-bit support. This support is crucial for HDR to SDR tone mapping.
