Hi there, I have a Firestick 4K, and I've tried (to no avail) to watch movies on my TV without plugging my laptop in and hooking it up via HDMI, but it hasn't worked out thus far.

The app version of Jellyfin is the one I got from here: https://repo.jellyfin.org/releases/client/androidtv/ I'm using version 0.15.11. I had installed it via the Downloader app (do note it's a jailbroken Firestick).

To stay consistent, I've been testing using just one movie so far, which is a 1080p x265 HEVC 10bit AAC 7.1 copy of The Avengers (2012). On the user I've also enabled the following permissions:

"Allow audio playback that requires transcoding"
"Allow video playback that requires transcoding"
"Allow video playback that requires conversion without re-encoding"

I tried ExoPlayer and it would play for a bit and then just freeze. Sometimes the subtitles crash too.
    LibVLC doesn't work at all.
I tried installing VLC for Fire and I just get the spinning VLC cone, it doesn't want to load either.

Any ideas where the limitation could be? Could my TV be causing issues? It's a Samsung LED TV, if i remember correctly it's from 2020, any way for me to check whether it's potentially the issue? If you need the model number, I can try to find it.
As to whether it's a network issue, is there a way to check the IP address from my Firestick and see if it's on the same network as my server?

If you're connected to your server using its local LAN IP (192.168.x.x) then you should be connected to the same network. Your firestick should be able to play that video without having to transcode, so perhaps it's a network issue. Try testing your connection speed on the firestick and see if the speed you get is higher than the bitrate of the media you're trying to play.

Check your jellyfin logs to see if it is transcoding.

    What are your server specs?
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB
    Storage
4x WD Red Pro 6TB CMR in RAIDZ1
