    Hello,
I have an Asustor AS6704T with  Jellyfin and 1.5 tb of movies, photos, music, shows and photos installed on it.
It was in the Movies, Music, Shows, Photos and Playlist folders. A standard install.
I then decided to add a folder, Aviation, where I could put all my aviation videos and photos to separate them from everything else.
Jellyfin created the folder, then moved EVERYTHING into the Aviation folder. All the original folders are now empty.
How do I move it all back. The only option I see is "Delete Media".

Thanks for any help you can provide.

How is your folder structure for the files and how are you adding them to the library?

Also, what type of library did you create for them?

    It's a standard Jellyfin installation
I Used the recommended templates for Movies, Music, Shows, and Photos.
I populated the folders using Filezilla.
This has been working perfectly since December.

I can find no explanation for why Jellyfin would move into the Aviation folder I created 2 days ago.

You need to give us more details, "recommended templates" doesn't tell us anything. Also, we don't know what you mean by "Jellyfin would move into the Aviation folder". Do you mean files on your NAS was moved, files displayed on the the Jellyfin interface. Please be as detailed as possible, screenshots would help.

    1. Provided server logs.
    2. How are your libraries set up, ex:
      1. Movies: (Movie: Content Type)
            media/movies
            media/moviesfolder2
      2. Aviation: (Home Videos and Photos: Content Type)
            media/vids
    3. Folder structure:
        media/movies
           movie 1(1999)
              movie 1.mkv
           movie 2 (2000)
              movie 2.mkv

Sorry. I thought I was clear.
In November, I added Libraries for:
    /Media/Movies
    /Media/Music
    /Media/Home Videos and Photos
    /Media/Shows

I then used Filezilla to populate the Libraries/Folders.

A few days ago I added a Library/Folder called Aviation.
When I ran "Scan all folders" all my original Folders got moved/created inside my Aviation Library/Folder with all their contents. and all my original Folders were still visible in the app with all their contents gone.
    I ended up with:
    /Media/Aviation/Movies (populated)
    /Media/Aviation/Music (populated)
    /Media/Aviation/Home videos and photos (populated)
    /Media/Aviation/Shows (populated)

    And:
    /Media/Movies (empty)
    /Media/Music (empty)
    /Media/Home Videos and Photos (empty)
    /Media/Shows (empty)

    Is this clearer?

Thanks for the clarification; the issue is much clearer now. Jellyfin doesn't have a built-in feature for moving folders (aside from trickplay files) the way you described, so something must have been done on the Asustor side. Unfortunately, Jellyfin can't move those files back, so you'll need to use whatever file manager is built into Asustor. Definitely avoid deleting any media directly from Jellyfin, that would remove it from the filesystem.
