How do I create an admin user?

Hello!

I cannot login to the service. How do I create an admin user?

Steps I did:

- Downloaded .debs:
    jellyfin_10.10.6+ubu2404_all.deb
    jellyfin-server_10.10.6+ubu2404_amd64.deb
    jellyfin-web_10.10.6+ubu2404_all.deb

- Installed them:
    sudo dpkg -i jellyfin*

- Started the service:
    sudo systemctl start jellyfin

- Pointed my browser to the machine in my local network where I installed the service:
    http://homeserver:8096/


There I see a standard login page, but there is no user at all. Never created one. How do I create an admin user?

First, you could have used our auto install script instead of manually downloading and installing our deb packages.

Code:

curl https://repo.jellyfin.org/install-debuntu.sh | sudo bash

The script also adds our repository to your apt sources so that you can install via apt and also get auto updates.

Regarding your posted problem. Has there ever been a Jellyfin install on this server? Go to /etc/jellyfin and open system.xml. What is the value of "IsStartupWizardComplete"?
