    Hello there,

I recently discovered Jellyfin and have set it up with my home media and Samsung TV.
And its been amazing with one exception.

Anytime I try and watch old episodes of Babylon 5 on the TV it plays for about a minute then dies.
Works fine when I stream to my phone, or any of the computers.

I'm guessing there is probably an obvious solution - help would be appreciated.

    Code:

Is Babylon 5 your only show that is HEVC 10-bit and 60FPS? I wonder if your TV doesn't properly support those parameters.

    It could be.

Is there an easy way I can search to try a different show with the same parameters?

I don't suppose it's possible from jellyfin to decode and play the file from my server? Or am I going to be better off re-encoding the whole series? 😭

Not that I'm aware of.  I tried to write up some loop and use ffprobe, but I couldn't get all the ffmpeg/ffprobe banner stuff to go away.  The reports plugin doesn't list the frame rate or bit depth.

Negative.  The server will decode only when it is transcoding.  You COULD select a really low bit rate in the quality selector to force a transcode as a workaround.
