In the collections library there's a collection entry (a film series) I want to delete. However, when I delete it, it keeps reappears after a while. I don't know if this is default Jellyfin behaviour or done by a plugin. I checked all plugin settings and the logs to figure out how and when the collection entry gets added again. But I don't see anything related to it (only playback, transcoding log entries).

Plugins activated that might be related:
    • OMDb
    • TMDb
    • TheTVDB

Besides that, even though I fully locked the collections, when I change their Name after a short while their previous names will reappear again. This might be a related issue I guess.

If you don't have the TMDB Boxset plugin installed, then you probably have "Automatically add to collections" checked in the library settings.

No I haven't. Looks interesting, though. Right now only the "TMDb" one is installed.

And this checkbox is indeed enabled, because I want that behaviour, usually. It's just a specific tv series which I don't want to be collected like that.

Is it possible to change the "collection name of a movie"? I don't see anything like that in the movie meta data screen. Or does it refer to "TheMovieDb Box Set Id" or "TheTVDB Box Set Id"?

Edit: I just screwed up my collections. Instead of "Lock this item to prevent future changes" because it still kept changing the title of my collection entries. Instead I disabled that on all my collections and in "Enabled Fields" I deselected "Name", only. Then I executed "refresh metadata" with "search for missing metadata" on the collection library and the movie library. Now most of my collections are empty and "Lock this item to prevent future changes" got re-enabled.
Edit2: After I re-scheduled the media scan task from the administration page, the collections got repaired, luckily. The unwanted collection is still there, though. I don't understand why collection got locked again, automatically.

The collections are dynamically created based on whether they are in a TMDB collection. AFAIK, there is no way to prevent Jellyfin from recreating the collection you renamed or modified. The "lock" feature not working is a known issue.

You could try disabling the library setting I mentioned in my screenshot and instead using the TMDB Boxset plugin to create the collections. It has a scheduled job that you can modify (or disable) so that it isn't willy nilly re-creating collections constantly.

Thank you for your support. With the "TMDB Boxset" plugin you mentioned all the problems are solved as long "automatically add to collection" is disabled in the movies library, too. The plugin will create duplicated entries on first use, though. So I had to delete the previous collections one by one. But now everything is fine:
    • Renaming the auto-generated collections is possible (won't be overwritten anymore).
    • The boxset creation is based on the "TheMovieDb Box Set Id" entries in the movies, solely. Thus, intended collections (and their recreation) can be avoided by just deleting that id. Super simple to manage.
    • The fetched metadata is better (previously 90% of my collections didn't have a release date).
    • The "edit image" > search function for the collections works again.
