I found xbox one S are sold for quite cheap on the used market and wondered if I can use one as a TV Box
I gonna use mainly Jellyfin for most of my content. My PC gonna be the server and the Xbox the client from which I gonna watch. I also would like add Disney Plus and Netflix as secondary options so that is a consideration as well.

How it is in terms of codec supports and other features? I have a surround system that I would like to work with it.
Does the Dev mod enable more options for the console for that use case?

The codec support is pretty old and the Jellyfin UWP app is very out of date. I do not recommend an Xbox, new or old, as a Jellyfin client or even as a TV client.
