anyone know if the Oon allows skipping the Google account requirement?

I own a onn 4k streaming stick, you do need a google account but you could probably just make a dummy account. I load a launcher with mine though so I don't need a google account really. like Yankees4life wrote, it is a fantastic streaming stick though.

When you guys talk about loading "launchers" for Android/Android TV, what exactly do you need for this?

I ordered the Chromecast with Google TV from Google to use with my Samsung tv. After reading this thread, is it a good "stick"?

I have two of them and they're fine. Did you get the HD or 4K model?

I've read good things about that (if you're talking about the Oon Android TV box?). The issue I'm having finding a new ATVbox is they all seem to require creating a Google account. This was not the case when I got mine many years back. I don't have a Google account and don't want one, so if I cant find a box that allows skipping that step I will have to consider some other method. (I use F-Droid, Aptoide, APKPure and other stores for keeping my apps current.)      Does anyone know if the Oon allows skipping the Google account requirement?
I   think you should just use a mini pc then with Libreelec if you don't want to use a Google account

Onn 4K Pro @ $50 is best value

Google TV's $100 device is worthy but above average pricing for sure

For other Android TV devices, you'd wanna look out for features like Dolby Vision support or good speed or reputation for updates
