Is data being sent to/from Jellyfin server encrypted if connected via HTTPS?

If I always use the HTTPS port to connect to my Jellyfin server is all the data encrypted? Will my ISP know what I'm sending to/from my Jellyfin server or no?

I need to ask my ISP to open up port 80 for me to use my Jellyfin server remotely but I'm paranoid and afraid that if I do that they will get curious and may try to look at what I'm using it for.

Port 80 is for HTTP traffic. Port 443 is for HTTPS. Yes, connecting via HTTPS will mean your traffic is encrypted. Depending on how much you stream, your ISP will have an idea of what you're doing, but there's nothing illegal about running your own media server.

If you're worried about opening ports, see if you can find one that's open (i.e., not blocked by your ISP) and run a Wireguard node or use Tailscale for remote access rather than contacting them. That said, highly recommend against exposing port 80.

Adding to this, you can use tailscale funnel if you really want an URL for your Jellyfin (ex: remote SmartTV), tailscale funnel will act as a proxy, however is recommended to use it with Tailscale client software
