Ah, those two library types inherently understand and hide the directories. I'm discussing music video and home video libraries. Which brings me to a point of clarification that I hadn't noticed at first. The library I took the original screenshots from was set to Music Videos, when I had thought it was set to Home Videos. I recreated it as Home Videos and I now have the 'play all' and 'shuffle' buttons regardless what level within the library I am browsing, and if there are sub directories, or mixture of directories and files. It doesn't work though if I'm viewing a directory level with other directories in it. If there are directories present I get the error message "Playback error. Unable to find a valid media source to play." I think this is a misreported queue size error, though. I can shuffle a flat directory ~45 files with no subdirectories. But a flat directory with ~120 files and no subdirectories, the UI paginates on 100 items but gives me that same error when shuffling either page one (100 items) or page 2 (20 items).
The Music Videos library type seems to just not support the shuffle button in the root of the library, regardless of there being directories or not.
