I am running jellyfin on raspberry pi os, installed via casaos, i have an external hdd, mounted at /mnt/hddmedia.

I can access the drive from file manager, but jellyfin just gives the error: The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again.

    Could someone please help me?

You need to grant Jellyfin access to the mount in CasaOS.
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB
    Storage

If I understand CasaOS correctly, you'd make this change in CasaOS and not Linux directly.

Also, did you map the external hard drive to Jellyfin's container?
