    1) Fire Stick is up to date.
    2) Under Settings --> Playback --> Audio, its set to:

    Audio output - Direct
    Audio nightmode - Not checked
Bitsream Dolby Digital Audio - Checked
    Bitstream DTS audio - Checked
Default audio delay - 0 ms

Do those settings look right before I try step 3?

EDIT: I just tried playing that file on my chromebook (separate device from the computer that runs the actual server) and the file played fine on my chromebook.

Edit 2: Just tried playing the same movie file on another Fire Stick in another room and it played fine. So it seems isolated to this particular Fire Stick for some reason.

I am totally stumped. I cleared cache/data and then uninstalled the app. Restarted the 4k max. Reinstalled the app and it still won't play. Its connected to the 5g band on my wifi network so the speed is there. Maybe a conflict with Exoplayer and the 4k Max? The other Fire Stick I tried it on was not a 4k Max.

    Any thoughts?

Have you tried using libVLC or setting player preference to auto? How is your other Firestick configured?

    Factory reset the Firestick?

Yes, when I try libVLC it stutters badly, like every 2-3 secs. I did set it to auto as well but I get the same stuttering issues. Even if I change the audio from DTS Master Audio to just DTS. If I switch it back to Exoplayer, it wont even start and errors out. The other Fire Stick is set up with the default settings, I didn't change anything. So it is using Exoplayer and plays the movie file just fine.
