    Hello all.

New problem unlocked: when I try to play a 4k video, the video transcodes one segment, then freezes, then the audio continues to play with no interruption whatsoever, and the logs say FFMPEG exit status 0:

What is going on here? The permissions are good, hardware acceleration seems okay, and what's weirder is that I can transcode the whole video using FFMPEG on the command line pretty quick. I don't have this problem on a browser, only my WebOS smart TV app. TBH I have had all sorts of problems with that app, but I haven't had this one before. Previously, I was able to stream 4k on my TV app no problem. So what's going on?[/color]

On a browser it only stutters but does not stop completely.

The video is being remuxed. No transcoding for either the video or audio.

Can you share the ffmpeg log? So I can see the media info for this file. The file names are rarely accurate descriptors of the file's codecs and whatnot.

Sure. I attached the logs here. What’s weird is that I just tried to stream the same video on my phone through my reverse proxy and it streamed fine, but not on my laptop or tv.

Also random question: would it be crazy if I installed Windows and used Docker to run Jellyin vs Ubuntu 24.10? I’m more comfortable with bare metal Ubuntu but I feel like it would be easier to manage if it was Windows, in a container, maybe either a persistent volume or maybe with nixOS.. I could also do Docker on Ubuntu but getting my BeeLink N150 was a PITA. I’m considering an OS reinstall because it’ll be cleaner and I somehow destroyed my Ubuntu installations ability to print

Why would Docker in Ubuntu in Windows be better then just Ubuntu? Or Docker in Ubuntu (no windows). You'd lose hardware acceleration as WSL2 only supports Nvidia GPU passthrough. Since you are using VAAPI I am assuming you do not have an Nvidia GPU.

Also, I re-read your opening post and noticed you said your TV was WebOS. You need to disable "Prefer fMP4" if you have it enabled. Both of the logs you've provided show you are transcoding to a MP4 container, which is currently bugged in our WebOS app.

Wow. That completely fixed it. Thank you so much. Also thank you for the advice, I'll keep using my Ubuntu installation.
