Updated my buddy's server to 10.10.7 and updated the JF Media players to match - JellyfinMediaPlayer-1.12.0-windows-x64-legacy. On 2 of his systems JF Media Player works fine. On his main HTPC is fails to launch with this error.

The procedure entry point _CxxFrameHandler4 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\ProgramFile\Jellyfin\Jellyfin Media Player\D3DCompiler_47.dll

I have google for a solution and deleted the JF MP folders in Program Data multiple times. Un-installed and re-installed and still the same issue. When this fails clicking OK in the pop-up dialogue box doesn't clear and end the attempt and I have to use Task Manager to force exit the application. Any ideas what is going on here?

Just tried to get this working again. Did a full in-install and deleted both Jollyfin directories in the c:\ProgramData foler and Roaming/Local folder. Restart and make sure there's nothing left from JF on this system (it on'y needs media player). Do the install, click to run and BAM same issue. And JF has again created 2 folders in the Roaming/Local folder. One with and one without spaces in the folder name. No idea why it continues to do this.

I just did a full fresh Windows 10 re-install on this HTPC and re-installed JF Media player and having the same issue. The fresh Windows install resolved other issues this HTPC was having. So still no idea what the issue is with JF Media player.

1.) I noticed you are running the "legacy" version of JMP. Did you also try the non-legacy version also?

2.) Does the .DDL file exist in the  directory  C:\ProgramFile\Jellyfin\Jellyfin Media Player\D3DCompiler_47.dll?

3.) Sounds like a Microsoft Visual C++ error. Is it installed?

    Just ideas, Good luck...

It's old hardware so when I tried the non-legacy version on a different system that caused other issues.

Honestly haven't checked the folder for the .dll but JFMP always creates 2 different directories every single time.

I'll look into the C++ fix later when I can. Thanks for the help!

I tried updating the C++ and first installed version 1.11.0 and that worked. I then moved to 1.12.0 regular and that once again failed. I tried 1.12.0 legacy and it failed as well. Reverted back to 1.11.0 for now.

I am seeing this same issue on a freshly reformated older Surface pro running Windows 10 Pro.  I have made sure that it is all up to date as far as Windows update is concerned, Apps and Features shows the MSV C++ 2015-2022 redist as well as the 2012 version.   I have tried both the standard client and Legacy, and tried repairing both the MSV C++ instances (which shouldn't be necessary anyway since, as I said this is a fresh install, the only other thing installed on this system apart from the Jellyfin client, is Chrome.

Speaking of Chrome, I can play stuff fine off the server running through Chome, just not the installable client program.

I will add that while this is a full fresh install it is an older version of Windows 10 Home specifically the last build known to work with full frame packed MVC 3D MKV playback through Kodi. But if another user is having issues on a full up-to-date Windows then I'm not thinking that is a potential issue.
