I'm using Kodi with Jellycon (largely cos of the sound, but I also enjoy the customisation).

For whatever it's worth, I mainly use Arctic Horizon 2 as a skin though I'm playing with Arctic Zephyr reloaded for the time being currently.

One question: when adding library sources in the home menu settings section,
what is the difference between adding the movie library via the library options vs adding the same library via the add-on option?

There definitely is a difference I can tell from use: adding the library via the add-on means it is slower to load when opening a library.

On the other hand, adding the library via the library option had quite a few items missing from the library.

So what's the difference between the two options and what is recommended?

Jellycon doesn't populate the internal library of Kodi. So assuming jellycon is the only source of media you have, adding via library should be empty. Frankly, I have absolutely no idea where that's coming from, but I just verified it's doing the same behavior on my system as well. Worth noting that it appears to only be displaying shows that are unwatched. Given that it's much quicker than loading the libraries on demand, it has to be some sort of caching system, but it also has some unexpected filtering forcibly applied.

I can only assume that this is some new feature of Kodi 20, but it doesn't seem to be completely working as intended. It's certainly not anything I've added.
