Lyrics in JF

Hello,

I have no experience with lyrics. Maybe someone can help me. In JF (10.9.6) there is an option in the library: "Save lyrics into media folders." The text below it says that saving lyrics in the same folder as the songs makes them easier to manage. Okay, but where do the lyrics come from? Are they automatically fetched from the Internet when I enable this option? Do I need a plugin for this in JF?

There are apps that embed lyrics in your music files, if the file type supports it (I know FLAC does).

I don't have lyrics myself, but I'm assuming Jellyfin would extract the lyrics and save them as .lrc files in the same directory as the song file.

Do I understand you correctly that the option in JF -> Library does not download lyrics? They must already be present in the directory?

My collection is entirely in OGG-VORBIS and I use Finamp as a client.

At the moment there is no automatic fetching of lyrics. Stay tuned for 10.10

Thank you for the info! Lyrics are nice to have, but not the most critical feature. I think there are more important tasks for JF to focus on.

I'll keep an eye on the changelog and test it out when it's available.

As crobibero stated, nothing built into Jellyfin. You have to bring in lyrics from some external source/app.

But the OGG container also supports embedded lyrics.
