Recently I have been rebuilding and re-evaluating my home theater setup which is involving replacing devices and re-configuring how things are accessed.

In that, I am replacing Android+Kodi+JF for Kodi clients in favor of utilizing my Tizen TVs for streaming apps such as Hulu, Disney+ which eliminates having to ensure my Android devices are L1 certified.

Now I am able to utilize player devices that are better suited for owned media from jellyfin, namely Zidoo+Zidoo fork for JF

I have found the Zidoo to be quite capable, so much so in fact that it can actually run the Emby "Server" for Android as well as being it's own client, which means I can run a single Zidoo in my Home Theater setup which serves it's media to the other TVs in my home via the Tizen app

    Downsides
    I'm not an Emby fan
The Emby Client for Zidoo isn't very good
I'm not a premiere member so I get nags on the Tizen clients

    Finally my questions are
Is there a fork of the Jellyfin SERVER that runs on Android like Emby has, if not is there a plan to have it?
Is the Jellyfin Tizen App usable currently on 2023+ Tizen TVs (7.0+), if not then is there a plan to update?

In my current state of flux I can easily switch something back to android but it just changes how I do something else.

Thanks for reading, I did attempt to google but any attempt to search google for "jellyfin"+"android"+"server" just brings up the clients and it ignores the word server entirely.

As far as I know there is no fork for Jellyfin to run on Android.

There is no plan to ever create one.

"Is the Jellyfin Tizen App usable currently on 2023+ Tizen TVs (7.0+), if not then is there a plan to update?"

to answer myself, yes the tizen app is still usable on 2023 Tizen TVs but you have to loosen your definition of usable because i wouldn't describe it as a good experience
and the lack of response or updates on github probably answers the 2nd part of "is there a plan to update"

    also
if you search you will find precompiled packages https://github.com/jeppevinkel/jellyfin-tizen-builds
that page indicates you can use the docker from https://github.com/Georift/install-jellyfin-tizen
but the docker does not work so you need to go to the source and run it as interactive https://github.com/vitalets/docker-tizen-webos-sdk
and you have to alter their directions too, you have to add '--network host' to the docker command
once in docker it will still not connect but once the sdb server is running and you can see it listening from netstat
then you can have your tv connect back by putting in the ip into the developer window
then back at the pc you can issue sdb connect

so, installation isn't exactly enjoyable either, but yea it's 'usable'

if you talk about android, what type of android do you mean, and what jellyfin do you mean, jellyfin server or jellyfin client ??

if you want jellyfin server to run on android like Set Top Box (STB)
of course you can, you have to install casaos on STB first, after that you install jellyfin server

you can learn how to install casaOS on android stb, on youtube

if you talk about android mobile phone, of course it is not effective for jellyfin server, except jellyfin client, and it is already in playstore

so what jellyfin do you mean, and what android media do you mean

I try running jellyfin server on termux at android with glibc-runner and root permission, it can work well. But jellyfin not support android mediacodec, so I only can use software encoder. But ffmpeg has android mediacodec support.

You try it out yourself, but I would expect the performance to not be great if it works at all.
