If you manually set the library images, the library title will not be displayed. The library title overlay is generated as part of the weekly image rotation.
BUT, there are tools to add the text overlay. https://github.com/eebette/jellyfin-tools

I use Jellyfin on my Synology NAS and installed Jellifin with the SynoCommunity App.
So i do not know, how i can use this tool Right at the beginning, when I was testing, I inserted my own images. That must be the problem. But if I create now a new library, it doesn't also have no title? Is that normal? So once you insert an image manually, you will never have a title in any library again? Thanks?

I manually adjusted a lot of metadata in Jellyfin.
All image files are stored in the film folders and also a .nfo file. All changed metafiles are in the .nfo file, right? So I could uninstall Jellifin and reinstall it. If I then create new libraries, Jellifin should reuse the existing metadata from the .nfo file from the film folder and use the manually adjusted metadata? Or does Jellyfin then overwrite all .nfo files? Thanks

If you disable all metadata providers in the library settings, Jellyfin will use the NFOs exclusively. If ANY of the metadata providers are enabled, it will use that instead.

But if there is already an .nfo file for the movies, won't this be given priority after a new Jellyfin installation?

Negatory. NFOs exist primarily for clients that use them (Kodi). Jellyfin uses them as a last resort as a source for metadata.
Regarding jellyfin-tools. You run that tool outside of jellyfin. As long as you're able to install python and pip. It is NOT something you run inside of Jellyfin.

I would like to completely reinstall everything.
Because I've been experimenting a lot over the last few days. As a final installation, so to speak But I don't know which settings in the library now i shoult set so that the existing metadata remain preserved (from the existing .nfo files) and still have new automated metadata added for new films?

Uncheck TMDB, Open Movie Database, etc. And all the image providers. Uncheck all of the boxes for the various metadata providers.

Can I reactivate TMDB, Open Movie Database, etc... after the "initial indexing"?
Otherwise new films would no longer have metadata |
