Idk if it's weird but for my setup, i am using a windows laptop as my main machine. i didn't want to run jellyfin on it, so i got nuc (running debian) and sharing disks over samba share (cifs) via ethernet cable.

but NUC is using a really old cpu (i5 5th gen U model), which i think is a bottleneck in my case right now. i was wondering if i could use some ffmpeg script/cmd to generate trickplays on my main laptop with newer n more powerful CPU, and then migrate it to NUC storage

i have over 2TB of data to be processed, and otherwise it appears it'll take over a month
or if there's a better way to speed up trickplay generation

    for extra context:
i don't save images/nfo with media, as i want my main folders to be clean.
i am a new user exploring jellyfin, so a lot of stuff i am not much knowledgeable about, would appreciate the help

Make sure to enable keyframe generation for trickplays in its dashboard settings.

Keyframes makes the process go by way faster since ffmpeg no longer needs to go frame-by-frame on each video to generate the trickplays.

Thanks. That sped the process up a lot. earlier it was taking about an hour for 0.1% progress
