    Hello,

I'm writing here to ask for advice about upgrading the hardware hosting my Jellyfin Server.

I've been using Jellyfin for a year, and I chose to buy a Synology NAS DS223J (https://www.synology.com/en-global/products/DS223j). It worked fine at first, but now I have more users on Jellyfin; we can be up to 5 people at a time, using transcoding. When there are too many people, the server becomes too slow, and it is difficult to watch videos in good quality.

I think my NAS is not powerful enough for good performance, so I'm looking to upgrade for better performance. I've heard a lot about users who use a Mini PC instead of a NAS, and I'm considering buying one with an Alder Lake N100.

What do you think about something like this? (https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B0CYL2VRRV?smid...1608179751)

Would this be sufficient for 5 users at a time who need transcoding? Do I need to invest in anything else?

Thanks in advance for your advice. I look forward to your responses.

    Dylan

As long as you don't need HDR tone mapping, the N100 can handle transcoding for 5 users, no problem.
