Since ~ 2004 I've been cultivating a growing set of complex .m3u / .m3u8 music playlists (pulled from iTunes) that I use daily. For the longest time, I was unable to use them on Jellyfin's Roku App / client (this kept me using E**y for way too long). The Web Interface has an easy place to access externally managed M3U playlists, but the Roku app just doesn't, and I do most of my listen time in my living room..
Anyway, I have no idea when this became possible, but it's changed everything...
THE SOLUTION:
Externally Managed Playlists can be added to a collection via Web, and the Roku app sees them fine.
Just select all the playlists in the web app, and "Add to Collection" and type (new) "Music Playlists", and the Roku app can see them in the Collections tab and they are automatically updated on scheduled Media Scans.
This, weirdly, means I have a front level Playlists tab with nothing in it, but that's because I don't want to manage playlists in multiple places.

Please note: I searched and searched for this so if it is already documented somewhere, it isn't searchable by any keywords I'm using. Searchable is also why I have a wordy intro.
