Hi !
I am trying to correct some of my albums' metadata (mostly artists wrongly named, or "&" signs instead of multiple artist entries). I saw a lot of comments about beets and musicbrainz picard but I'm not sure if it's the way to go for me.
Is there a way to write the data to nfo files instead of editing the file tags themselves (as this would screw up with the {activity we don't talk about- TDP}, most of my music is also {activity we don't talk about- TDP}) ?
Also, maybe there's an extension to edit metadata in batch directly in jellyfin, but that would create some kind of vendor lock-in, which isn't optimal.
Creating a copy of the {activity we don't talk about- TDP}, to edit the tags is not an option for me as it would double up the space taken, and my music library is huge.
So my question would be : for jellyfin use, what would be the best approach for editing artist tags ? generating nfo ? jellyfin plugin to edit metadata within jellyfin ? something else ?
I know that metadata can be manually edited, but this is a very long process. There is an option to "identify" albums with musicbrainz for example, but apart from images, nothing is updated, is there a way to update tags as well ?
Thanks in advance !
